No pics yet, sorry. I was at a dumpy yardsale saturday and ran across a portfolio of very classy hi-style dress designs. The artist was 18 and it was for a class she was in called Costume design. I don't know if this was high school senior or freshman college. She was good. The kind of stuff you see on the red carpet at oscars.

Well sunday I did some research to see if she went on to be a clothing designer. I found out where she lived, the house she lived in and then the trail went cold.........fast foreward several decades, I found out where she lived for many years and the senior apartments she move to before she passed away 2 months ago.

So far I can not find any info for the middle 50-60 years. If she became a clothing designer I want to point out that in my auctions, to get a better price. Is that morbid?

I don't think it's morbid. Nothing more than giving the history of any artist.
Good luck on your research.

You might try to find an obituary for her. If you can find it it might have that information in it. It should also give you the names of her relatives and the towns they live in. If it does you can contact them and get information about her life. They might even be interested in the portfolio.

Why didn't think of that? I subscribe to the sunday edition of the paper she would be in. thanks.
I did find the obit of her ex-husband and it listed her as a deceased former wife.

Not morbid, IMO.

In all actuality, it is really a way to honor her and her skills.

fineally I have found some time to shoot and upload the pic I told you about. There are maybe 20-30 drawings. what would be a good catagory to list them in?

Nice buy, the art reminds of those you would find on old sewing pattern covers.
