The dimes were a skunk. But the question is, why is everybody excited about the rise in price of silver? I do realize that you can make more money with your silver. But every since silver has started to go up, it seems that everybody's finds have been decreasing. I would rather have more silver that I can sell for less. Instead of less silver that I can sell for more. Am I alone on this one?

hmmmm i would actually prefer a delayed or slowed rise in silver . I noticed an increase in competition since the price has flown up

Sorry boys welcome to the new "fundamentally transformed" America. This is designed to happened and were just getting started. Fiat currencies can't last and nothing that can't last will. It will take a miracle to turn this around, which is completely possible and and the focus of my prayers. But nobody but Donald Trump is even leveling with us and I don't think he is electable. To many of our fellow American's are completely OBLIVIOUS to what is going on. Look at Wisconsin, all these union people that don't get it and marching for something, when in reality they are being used. Most are good people, buy unaware of the danger that lurks.

God help us!!!!

We need to eliminate the unions. I want a day when we all make a poverty-level wage, straight across the board. It's the only way we can compete globally.

Yes - dump the unions. Why the heck should we care if the average joe actually makes a living wage! Call me crazy but them darn public workers and teachers sure don't need to be living in their own homes...there just lazy and leach off the system...right...as for the silver price - if you have been at this for a few years and have a large pile it can be fun to see the value rise. Unfortunately everything else has to go up in price at the same time.

Yes, while we're getting rid of unions, let's ditch child labor laws! Why should these freeloader kids not have to work 10 hours a day like the rest of us? What is this, some kind of charity?????

/sarcasm off

Those unions are willing to make concessions, and I think they definitely should, across the board. But ditching them entirely puts us in the position this country was in 100 years ago, when workers had no rights, no bargaining power and were used by industry until they died. Maybe we can't compete with China in this regard, but do any of us really want to be like China?

Amen.
Previous comments possibly made by non-union workers who could not get a union job.

holy politics batman............ can't we just go back to talking about the awesome finds we have, and encouraging those who are slumping to keep at it?

Not saying I agree or disagree with anything posted, and I respect everyone's opinion, but don't we all like hearing stories of finding a walker, a liberty nickel, or a WAM cent more?

Im David and I approve this message

(endorsed by the committee to go back to talking about mega scores and dream boxes) :laughing9:

I disagree (I hope you're being sarcastic). You've been watching FoxNews too much. I've worked in the public sector before and in law enforcement. It is a tough and stressful job. Most cops have less average life expectancies than average people due to the stress of the job. You need to put yourself in someone else's shoes. Saying "dump the unions" without any logically arguement is over the top and ignor$ant. Don't bash someone if you've never had to work in their shoes or have done their jobs. I'm not going to bash any teacher or make generalizations about them since I've never worked as one.

I would rather be in a union than be out on my own having to be kicked around by corporate big wigs who would rather pay people minimum wage or even less if minimum wage didn't exist. Unions aren't the only reason corporations went over seas and took all the jobs away. Workers in China on average only make $5000/year. With those numbers, it doesn't matter whether unions are there or not. No one can compete with that. China for a long time manipulated their currency exchange rate purposely move our jobs there. China has sweat shops, pay workers very little, no worker rights, and is polluted. I read today about some China company had exposed their workers to some poisoness toxin while the workers were putting together iphones. Next thing you know these greedy companies can move to Somolia and pay people there $0.10/hr.

I don't want to see corporations to run everything. Corporations don't care about anything other than money and answering to their shareholders. If they step on people's feet in the way of making money, so be it. Now they (people like billionaire Koch Brothers) pour in millions to dollars to buy elections and to buy politicians so they get their way. Watch the original movie "Robocop" and you'll see the satire of it where a corporation takes charge of the Detriot police force and replace them with Robocop so they make or save money. Of course, their own corporate greed gets in the way of doing what's right.

Remember ENRON? Enron used their power and money to deregulate the energy business in CA and they manipulated the market to intentionally cause power outages and drove up prices. Yeah, they had deep connections with George Bush Jr. too (worst president I have experienced in my lifetime) who did nothing to stop them. Enron ripped off millions from CA, caused Grey Davis to be recalled, and Schwarzenegger to be elected.

People complain about freeloaders. Sure there's freeloaders whether poor or rich (some rich people freeload too - it's called an inheiritance). People are inheiritantly selfish and so some people will take advantage of things. However there are also people who do need help and use it to get by to get on their feet. Call it an entitlement but I call it giving a helping hand. One of my friends was on unemployment for a year. He got let go and after a year finally got a good job where he's still at now. He didn't want to stay on umemployment and would rather have a good job so he worked at it to get one. People, please don't generalize. Foxnews just feeds you a bunch of crap paid by Billionaire Ruppert Murdoch. Things are not black and white in life.

Look at what David Koch has done with Wisconsin. They bought the Govenorship. It's funny how Scott Walker sounded so tough in talking with the press and unions yet he was like a little kiss-A$$ with the fake David Koch on the phone. It just shows who is running whom. At no where in the conversation with Koch, did Walker talk about the budget and how the state doesn't have money to Koch. Walker only talked about how he wanted to be the next Ronald Reagan and how sending "troublemakers" into the crowd would be bad politically and not because he worried about people getting hurt. What a scumbag.

Why should we let the top 2% of earners in the U.S. dictate the remaining 98%? Think independently folks.

On another note.. keep getting boxes. I've gotten skunked with dimes before too. I only average one dime per box so it's not suprising if you got skunked. Get those keepers now so you don't have to worry about the competition that appear when it's $50/oz. HH

UNION UNION UNION.. CHANT!!

I can think of a few things that aren't increasing. Examples are student loans, mortgages, credit card debit. Any kind of debit would be a good thing to pay off with your silver because odds are you made any or all of those purchases before inflation. I know I'm thinking about paying some things off with my silver. The only hang up I have is that paying bills doesn't seem like any fun.

lol unions may have pushed too hard after they made working conditions better for most of america but do you have any idea where we would be today if not for the unions. Be careful what you wish for.

Its less the unions idea of better working conditions and more of the unions view of increasing the membership that has hurt this county.

before bashing unions research how much of your money goes to illegal aliens and ask why is the media keeping this quiet.

As for competing globally it is nearly impossible for most americans who need to make more then the rest of the developed world just to break even.Try moving to my county in westchester NY and tell me about competing globally. I couldnt pay the taxes in my modest home if i had to compete globally. That was one of Bush's big lies. How can america compete with India alone when their growing middle class is 300 million people and their standard of living is well below ours. Please dont answer anything if your not going to answer this one first.

I'm not excited about the rise in silver. The rise is just an indicator of the decline of the dollar. I read that food prices are going to rise 35% in 60 days.
I don't mind finding less silver as long as someone who needs it more than me finds it.

I agree with Rich. It's almost a double-edged sword in this rapid rise. I'd rather like a slow and steady climb. It also makes for less overall competition (and more silver for the rest of us!)

If you want to be paid $5k/yr. like Chinese workers then go ahead.. give me the rest of your earnings.

We need to have a law that says if you want to sell your items here in America, you need to have a certain number of employees stationed here in America. Take that corporations!! Of course, that won't happen as Citizens United decision (worst decision by supreme court) ever is now letting greedy billionaires buy politicians, corrupting policies, and in the end destroying the middle class.

As far as silver.. I hope it's not tied to oil too much. There's talk now of limiting what speculators can buy. Does anyone have a clue on what the actual supply and demand situation is for silver?

I'm actually above avg on finds last 2 months.

SF - agree completely. Competing globally can be done without bringing our way of life down to the level of Chinese or Indian workforces. We used to be a country that manufactured some damn good stuff. AND we had unions. Unfortunately today both CEOs and consumers are guilty of falling under the spell of cheap foreign goods. CEOs and stockholders because it helps their bottom line, consumers because, hey, who doesn't want to pay $300 for a 42 inch flatscreen. I'm guilty of it too.

Lately I've begun flipping products over and looking at where it's made. If it says China I put it down. I don't always succeed in this, but I've decided that I'd rather pay more for an American-made product (or really, anywhere that isn't a third world nation) than from some place I know is producing inferior products at cheap prices. We can do better.

The problem isnt Unions persay... but the thuggery and corruption involved between unions and politics that is the problem. Most union workers are hard working honest americans but at the same time why do they use words such as "scab" and flatten the tires and threaten other non union workers who are also just hard working americans trying to earn a living? That part of unions is disgusting. Politicians making deals with american tax dollars to labor unions for votes is as corrupt as it gets that is also disgusting, no more or less than politicians from the other side taking lobbyist dollars for the same reason.

Our biggest problem again isnt unions but the way we collect tax dollars. You have need for minimum wages or have unemployment issues if we didnt tax jobs right out of america. Drop the corporate tax rate to 0 and see how many jobs come flocking back to the US that previously left along with all kinds of new jobs from other countries. Our issue is the government has their hands in every single detail... tax the guy making raw goods, tax business making raw goods, tax the guy buying raw goods and his business, tax the people who work for him, tax the retail store selling what the guy who bought raw goods made, tax the business retailing raw goods, then charge the buyer of finished product state sales tax........then on top of all these taxes require than every single one of these stepping stone business pay a minimum wage.

Point being we use to have a corner on the market of innovation in the world. Now there is competition. As in any other competition you either get bigger, better, faster, stronger, more efficient to compete or you lose.

The Definition of insanity is to continue doing what you are doing expecting different results. This is common sense. Come on Fair tax, Come on Herman Cain
