After dropping off my pick-up at the mechanic, I got a haircut and then attended an opening ceremony for a park that celebrates the glass making history in Port Allegheny. At one time, there were 3 Glass manufacturing plants in town and it was a major source of employment. They made all sorts of glass items from glass building blocks to bottles. Today there is only one plant left and it has cut it's staff due to modernization.
After helping to break down and load up the tent, tables, chairs, etc.,, I did a little shopping, and then walked home.
It was threatening to rain but I still decided I would run a coil over the front lawn. Within the time frame of about 30 minutes, I recovered a double heart leather and metal key fob, a memorial penny from a depth of 6 inches, 2 wheat pennies, (16 & 47), and a 1964 Silver Roosevelt Dime.
I remember thinking, as I was walking to my neighbors yard to join them for pizza, "Boy, that was easy!"
