Weather in W PA has been in the mid 20’s with about an inch or so of snow on the not quite frozen ground. Great weather for lunch hour hunts!!

First unusual find at the 1860-1960 lost farm in the park woods.

Thought it was a Navy button until it started to clean up. Looks like the Boys Brigade pre-dated the Bot Scouts. Button is probably 1885-1910 range.

Also a flatbutton with some gilt, London backmark I think.

Then a Mascot Magic Token, I believe from around 1905, still doing research on this oddball.

Here are the buttons and tokens.

Then I got into a patch of briars that had a bunch of high tones, I like the sash buckles.

Then, of course the cutlery continues, spoon 3 for the year and fork 2, plus a knob.

And I saved the best for last...

This was a 27-28 signal in the area with all of this other stuff. Knew from the blackness that there was a chance it could be silver.

Thats a killer spoon Thad! Congrats. Rumor has it you have something new to post up too.......?

Very cool finds! That's an awesome spoon! Congrats! :icon_thumleft: My first sterling spoon I broke while digging it up. But my second came out whole.

Any silver spoon is a special find - yours is particularly beautiful !! I'd be over the moon with that gem .

Thx! My first silver spoon was very plain, but really old, mid 1800’s. I don’t think this one is as old, but it’s definitely ornate.

Thx John! This mornings hunt with Louis started slow, but then I had a High-V moment or six. Post to come soon.

Thx! It’s definitely a cool moment when you realize you have an old Sterling Silver spoon in your hand not just another plated one. Doesn’t happen too often.
