braided cord with brass end

[GTI2000]

green and red striped cord is 10 feet long with loop on one end and brass item on other at 18 inches from brass end there is a loop.
I found at garage sale for a quarter and i dont know what it is.

Maybe an "Aiguillete".....an ornamental cord most often worn on uniforms

I don't think it's an Aiguillette. Judging by the colors represented on it, i'm thinking it's a Fourragère WW2 or WW1 era- Fourragère - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
