The interlinked hoses lead me to believe that it is a Fire Department badge...check with your local FD.

They look like fire hose nozzles,but could they be cannons instead? Look closer.Nice find.

You're right...they do look like crossed cannons. I guess as a fire fighter I immediately saw straight bore nozzles. ;D

Is it possible that it could be a Tour Guide Hat Badge? Maybe it said Guide where it's all rusted! Just a guess! ???

I'm guessing that this is a badge from a veteran's encampment at the Iowa capital.

Similar to this one:

They don't do stuff like this much anymore, but way back, the old vets would get together on a regular basis and the organizers would hand out badges and medals and ribbons and other stuff to commemorate the occasion.
