🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Brass Buckle Found at 1950's Dump. Military?

Spotted a brass buckle while I was digging at a 1950's dump site today. It measures 1 5/8" square and it might be military. Any help on the ID would be appreciated. Sorry for the lousy pic. It's a still image from the video I shot. My GoPRo doesn't take very good pics indoors, so this is the best I can do tonight.

I remember wearing a heavy cloth belt with a similar buckle in the 70s.
But I wouldn't be surprised if this design was also supplied as part of US Military attire.
The example you found looks to be from the 1950s or 60s.

It's a military or military style buckle. Can't speak for the other branches, but we wore them for many years in the USAF up until we transitioned from BDUs to the ABUs sometime around 2010 or so.

Link shows them, it's an Open Face Buckle. While they were used by the military is was also available on the civilian market. So it could be either......
