Picked up this recently at a Yard sale for $10
the badge is very heavy and appears to be solid brass

The HMS Virago was a V-class Destroyer in the British Royal Navy . She took part in the Normandy landings in World War II by firing on German positions
Well the crest has made it back across the ocean to England. It is now in the hands of a descendant of Mr Colin Howarth who served on the Virago during WWII
