Brass electrical part?

All, found this brass piece during my first visit to an early 1800s farm house about 2 feet from where I dug a 1866 IHP. Showed it to the property owner and our first thought was some electrical part. There are no marks. It is 2" diameter at the widest point and is about 1 1/8" tall. It looks fairly modern as it is in good "dug" condition. The 4 photos from different angles below will hopefully help a TNetter ID it.

It looks like a lamp base of some kind. Possibly automotive.

It reminds me of a vintage brass navigation light base off of a boat
