I found this yesterday , it was twisted and bent beneath a tree root . I took a brush to a peice of it , it is solid brass three nail holes . Has a snake skin design on it ,it measures 6 inches by 1 3/4 of an inch . Any idea what it is ? Im stumped !

Textured brass sheet metal...... Don't have any idea what that particular piece was used for.

Typically used by hobbiests and crafts persons and do it yourselfers. Examples include kitchen backsplash, or fireplace surround.
