Brass tag, 50mm With Anchor

Anyone familiar with this anchor symbol?
Has C R stamped on sides of anchor. hard to see the R in photo but its there, 50mm.

Shipboard tool tag? I know the Navy furnishes tools for the men and perhaps this is how they keep track of them on the boats? Any Navy mechanic know? Just a guess on my part. Monty

Did you ever find out what this is? A friend found one in eastern Arkansas recently.

Apologies for the delayed reply, not getting notifications on older posts
Have no definite ID yet, though Naval equipment ID tag sounds reasonable.
Have since recovered two more with anchor in different sizes.
