I have saved up about 50 pounds of yellow brass mostly from solenoid valves and plumbing parts, all clean and ready for top $, problem is finding a honest yard to take them, yellow brass is at ,$ 2.05 right now everywhere I look online but yard will only pay $1.25. Does this seem right, I understand that I wouldn't get the full scrap value as there needs to be profit on there end but that's almost half..

Start making phone calls to different yards. I took some scrap in a few weeks ago and I called 3 different yards first. On brass, one paid a dollar a pound, another was $1.35, and the 3rd one was at $1.45.differences were about the same for copper prices too. You can guess which yard I went too.
