Found this today at a farm at Antietam in the same field's I usually hunt for CW relic's...Not sure if it's related to the War or not...That's what I need to know!! Any info would be appreciated....Thank's for lookin'...It's about the size of a nickle,the back has a squre peg with a notch grooved all the way around.The front has a small indentation dead center...Pretty heavy for being so small,Any idea's would be appreciated...Thank's.....

Kind of looks like a bolt head, but its probaly not.
I hope it's something cool.

Just a guess like the others. Maybe a drain/fill plug for an old cast iron radiator heater.

I think I can help with this one... I am pretty sure that this is the top end bolt head off the long vertical bolt that held together the 3 different layers of a 9 quantity grape shot shell (see page 145 of McKee/Masons Civil War Projectiles II). The head was designed to break off when the cannon fired the shell and thus disperse the 9 large iron balls.

Still, it could be an anvil cap for an artillery shell fuse.
