Brass Wing Nut?

Hey there, well thats what it looks like. Brass or copper, has a tiny threaded hole in center, would have been a pretty small bolt.Anyone know what this worked its way off of??

If it's brass, maybe it's off old telegraph or telephone equipment.

kind of looks like the ones on some old air cleaner covers but could be virtually off any kind of machine.

Thanks Guys! Dingode maybe a telegraph piece could make sense considering it was in a huge field with nothing moderm except beer cans, but like Fireman said, could of come off of lotsa a stuff back when brass was king
