Nice Digs indeed, not sure but think the cooper is French, looks similar to one I have. But again no expert, that would be my guess, CONGRATS

Old, but not 1600s. French 6 Deniers Circa. 1710-1712 (N mint - Montpellier)

cool ill re-title it lol i thought for sure that was a six

I like that coin. Never dug one.

Congratulations on the excellent finds!

You got real oldie there, it seems they show in the oldest places around here anyways, nice one!

im going back this weekend

Nice copper there Mattysee. I've never dug a French copper before. 1600s....early 1700s...its all old from what I can see. That ball button seems to be a good indicator of the site age.

when were those ball buttons around? ive found a large selection of finds in this spot pewter buttons a irish half penny and a my first fugio last year, going to venture out from the celler holes a bit this weekend

You'll see those ball buttons start to show up around 1820 or so, great indicator of the age of a good site.

ive got a few i always thought they were later than that, thanx for the info

I was thinking of the blowhole buttons instead of the ball buttons...although I thought the ball buttons were older as well.

Great, early copper!
