Broke my 1700s streak, but that's OK, very nice 2 Cent piece
I have hunted 6 times nearby since April 7th and on 5 hunts I got a single 1700 era coin with only one hunt getting skunked on coins, but today on my 7th hunt at the same ole site I got a slight coin type reading amongst the heavy iron area I was hunting and going slow again proved to be successful. A nice 1864 Two Cent Piece was down there, about 6 inches and it was nice to see a coin with great detail. It was found only about 20 feet from where two weeks ago I got that great conditioned NJ copper, so the soil in that immediate area is kind to coins. But 2 Centers usually do fair pretty good in the ground for the most part, better than other copper coins in general, perhaps the tiny bit of tin used helps.
I checked my records and the last 2 center I found was way back in April 2006! So it has been quite some time since I have found one. This was my 7th one.
