Broke the cherry - 1st silver - 1940 walking liberty

Started detecting 6 months ago, but only this week did I start taking it "seriously"...research, permissions, etc. After a crap-ton of clad, six or seven wheats, and about 9 million pull tabs I dug this this morning:

That's actually a Walking Liberty, quite a nice find, congratulations. I believe the first silver for most people is only a Mercury dime.

What a woman, I still want to find one of those. Congrats! 6 months and you are already wearing big boy pants....:laughing7:

That's a nice walker :icon_thumleft:

You sure picked a good one for your first! Congrats!

Congrats on your 1st silver. :occasion14: Wow it's a big one. I have been hunting for 16 months and have yet to dig one of those beauties.

thanks cuz. once I find a spot that holds a candle to your neck of woods you'll be the 2nd to know. Every place I've hunted so far with the exception of the one from which I pulled the half dollar seems like it's been hunted a hundred times...but then again there's utube videos of dudes pulling silver from NJ parks all the time...I'm probably just doing it wrong. Hopefully once I figure out the AT Pro i'll get a little deeper than the multitudes that have come b4

I'll be down there shortly so leave some silver in the ground for me.
