Broken atlatl and what is it?

From Southern IL, any idea what it is or possible natural? Came from same area as atlatl its broken on each end.

Too bad on the Atlatl,unfortunately this is the way most of them break. At least that's the case on the 6-7 I have found. One of these days I'm bound to find a "whole" one. Hunting the plow zones tends to be what you get. The other piece I'm not sure, the one end looks like it has a bit end. I found a piece similar, in size also with a bit end and a blunt end ( not broken) and I believe some one told me that it was a chisel? Nice pieces anyway, good save and CONGRATS!

Is the banner broken through the hole? If so, could you post a picture of that? Like these...
