✅ SOLVED Broken Ceramic Thing With Holes Around It, and Falling apart Metal Tube?

These are the two things I'd like to inquire about today.

The first is this ceramic bit I've found a few pieces of. Not sure what it would have been.


And the other is this metallic tube. It's really fragile and I don't think there is any hope of preserving it, but while I could I took a picture showing the little sort of latch like mechanism attached to it.

Ceramic thing looks like the part that holds test tubes and spins around in a centrifuge.

Don't know what the metal thing is. Thought at first it was a shell casing but then I saw the latch.
