My brother is currently metal detecting in north-central Wisconsin and found this. Any ideas?

Very well could be a copper culture point. Are there any copper deposits in the area? I know there are some around the Great lakes.

Post on the North American Indian Artifact forum and see what they say.

Tony in SC is correct... Copper Culture point 3,000-5,000 years old. Tell your brother congrats for a wonderful recovery!!

Has the look and patina of Old Copper Complex manufacture.
Some claim dates back 7000 yrs ... I think a "generic date" of 3000 yrs. is reasonable without extensive analysis.
N. Wisconsin is exactly where you'd want to find one given the best chance of it being authentic and ancient.

(it looks very promising, to me, ... going solely by the pictures ... a cool find !)
Does that hole clean out, near the base ?
