I have looked around the internet and have been unable to find anything like this. I would appreciate any help I can get identifying it. Thank you.

It is about 10 inches height and 6 inches width.

I put a magnet on it and it does not stick so I think it is bronze.

The maker's mark appears on the bottom as an eight-pointed star shown in the attached photo.

Note the dragonfly and toad in the detail.

***Upon closer inspection, it appears to be aluminum.

Too heavy for aluminum. Could be lead.

It sounds and looks like the material may be spelter, which was popular at the time the nouveau style was.

I agree with both of you. This is a "bronzed" spelter vase. The white marks forming are called zinc pest.

I agree with dave ....burn it....dern wine drinkers

Though I do find your comments amusing and somewhat deserving and as much as we disagree with his comments on the other thread, it really has nothing to do with this thread. Besides this is America and he has a right to his own thoughts and beliefs. This isn't Nazi Germany after all, lol.
