Good evening everyone! We have a new find for you to hopefully help us with! This was found in the same area near both a Spanish and English wreck from the 1700s (found diving). Any ideas? It appears to be decorative for sure but potentially functional? :icon_scratch:

# signs are inch makers. :) Can't wait to hear your thoughts!

For an oil lamp? Anyone have any pics or resources for us to check out with similar photos?

If it's a base for a lamp or candlestick, why the cut out? It's also not decorated on the cutout side.

Is your scale in inches?

Could be off lots of things. Part if a desk set for inkwell & quills?

I'm thinking a bezel/cover for one end of a leather handle on a trunk. The leather strap would go out that open side, where it would connect on the other side covered by a similar piece.
