This came from a British Encampment from 1812.
I did the same spot so many times I couldn't possibly imagine there was anything missed.
When I bought a NEL for the AT, I had to go back but as sensitive as it was, the AT couldn't handle the coil around this area. It would become chattery then overload to where I'd have to hold it up above my head to stop it.
So I left it as cleaned.
I was wrong. DEUS ran with no problem, and pulled all at 9-10".
Had a problem hearing the ball button. Like the crotal bell "Round" maybe the shape inhibits feedback.

really nice finds, Rick! the Deus comes through. Congrats!

thats one of those places were the little tweak could work miracles if the machine would run stable . Bum p tx to 3 sens 93 and drop ground balance one number to 2 numbers below actual reading. nice finds!

I'll try that. Don't know about the Tx3. I had the same problem as bonepicker on the other thread yesterday. 4 hrs in on Tx2 the coil battery was showing dead after a charge.

you need to call Moe at the service center because thats not right, I can run for 2 four hunts I know on a single charge on tx 2, TX 2 is deep and probaly as good its the ground balance that gives it the extra depth some guys run it 5 below the actual number but I cant stand that makes the machine to unstable for me.if you can run it on 3 run it dont know how your ground is so thats a factor too , might be just as good on 2. Heres my suggestion bury you a 10 inch quarter silver and test the settings on it in your ground and see how it does.

Don't want to be an alarmist but that is not a good sign. Should be able to go all day even on TX3 with full coil charge. Keep an eye on that. Should take about 90 min to 2 hrs to charge a coil full. 15 min quick charge should give you 1 or 2 hours. Make sure that clip is on tight and use the wall plug instead of a "smart" usb source. Sometimes smart usb sources will secure charge to the load if current dips down to a trickle level. I think the coil has a smart charge circuit that lowers the final charge current and then it cuts off. Using the dumb wall charging unit ensures the smart charge circuit can do its thing without some upstream "smart" usb circuit interfering. Otherwise, could be a bad wall charger or bad coil charging circuit or bad coil battery. The latter two require warranty service of the coil. Any dumb usb wall plug unit should suffice if its the former. Hope its something simple like just not a firm connection by the charging clip otherwise warranty service will take you offline for a little while (at least as far as the Deus is concerned). Also, the battery may just need to be seasoned with a few full charge cycles to work up to full capacity, but what you are describing is a little concerning. Hope its nothing and coil capacity comes up to where it should be.

Another thing I thought of, make sure when you are done for the day or hunt session that you power down both the control unit and the headset. As you probably know, even if you power down the control unit, the headset will remain paired to the coil and will cause the coil to continue transmitting which if left overnight can drain the coil down. Should be obvious, but just thought I would put it out there.

Yep used the wall charger. Ear phones and Remote off. Steady light on the coil. When it switched to 3 sec one-off, I disconnect it. Went out this a.m. "1 Bar" so after reading some problems with downloads in UK to 3.2 not showing a full charge. A couple had mentioned reinstalling program had fixed it. I figured just keep going it's probably charged but not reading right.
This is what I stared at for 3 hours.

I was hoping it would shut off but didn't.
The Metal Detecting God's must have been watching and laughing at this sorry sap knowing I'm going to be on the phone disgusted tomorrow. So they threw me a bone.

In the woods to, 10 square foot area. All clad.
I was seriously looking for a mason jar sound after that.
Oh yeah see the mineralization meter? Never seen a block on it yet.

What the hell, that's more clad then I've found all year (almost). Too bad it wasn't silver or at least old. 10x10 ft, that's nuts. Was it spread around or in the same hole? No glass? Hope you get the battery thing figured out. Talk to XP America, maybe as simple as reloading 3.2 and you don't have to send it in.
