I continue to hunt the 1796 Huguenot property, a recent new permission. So far, its been buttons galore and a large cent which I posted last week. I only had about two hours to hunt yesterday, but my second signal revealed a great bucket lister for me - a 1852 Trime in fantastic condition!

Needless to say, I'm stoked! Loading up for another full day hunt right now. Good luck to all!

Thanks, PaDirtDigger. I should have also mentioned that it was one of those sketchy signals. Sounded great when swinging from one direction - but disappeared if hit from another direction. I came real close to walking on by, but the signals were so scarce in the area I was hunting that I thought, "What the heck". Right decision!

Congrats on the little beauty... she looks great!

Thanks, Dave. Little is right! As I mentioned earlier, I had no idea how small these coins are. Oh, and I found a 1961 Rosie earlier in the day - but that Trime totally blocked it from my memory until tonight!

Ooooooohh..... Thats good information too. When i get those signals, it will 97% of the time be thick iron, cast iron or iron with a hole in it or like a broken horse shoe. Keep digging them now... Very good info. Thank you for sharing it sir!!!

One Sweet coin, that's Awesome!! A Trime is still on my bucket list, hope when I ever find one if I do, it's at least half as nice as yours. Yours doesn't even look like it came from the ground.
Curious what it rang up as?
Congrats on a Awesome bucket lister!!

Just read where it came up 79-81, good I usually dig those numbers.

Congrats on the sweet silver!! :occasion14:

I've been fooled by flat iron too. In using the AT Pro, I start out with a good pin point, then slowly move the detector side to side (still in pin point mode). I call that "dragging the beep". If the signal stays with you for several inches on either side, the target is too large to be a coin or button (I dig a ton of those). If you move off the pin point and the signal abruptly stops, most likely you have a coin or button, or at least something that size. A lot of the colonial buttons I dig are brass, so shot gun stamps (my nemesis) sound exactly like those buttons, and some coins too depending upon their depth and size, but you get the idea. If you can drag that beep, it's most likely something that's going to be disappointing. Hope that helps, and keep at it!
