Second hunt in a row where my first signal was the best of the night and what a good one it was. Scored my first ever capped bust silver only feet away from where I found a worn 179? half real on my last hunt. :headbang: So glad to finally check that one off and its a nice looking 1830 dime at that. Also found the mystery copper from the cob site that has a cross on one side and what looks to be a bust on the other. Any help appreciated on that one but whatever it is it is likely no newer than about 1720.

Awesome finds! Any better pics of the unknown coin?

Virginia half penny?

Wow she is gorgeous!! I got 2 Bust half dimes this year, but still looking for that Bust dime and you did it. Congratulations

Wow, awesome capped bust! :icon_thumleft:

Congrats, those are nice.:icon_thumright:

Congrats on the sweet dime Toasted!

It has a lot of detail. A quick zap of electrolysis would knock some of the tarnish off. Not too much, just a little shock.

Good luck to you sir!

I'm still looking for my first, congrats!

Some beautiful coin saves. Congrats

Awesome Silver coin

Thanks but no way am I risking losing any detail. I ruined a seated half dime from the river that I tried to clean. It looks better in person imo

Congrats on the Cap Bust. Clearing the hurdle seems to make it easier the next time. Looking forward to seeing you get busted again.

Congrats on your first Capped Bust silver. They are tough to find, I only have found 2 compared to 68 Spanish I have found. Your copper is definitely a 1773 Virginia half penny.

Congrats man. Been a long time in the making. Well done.

Excellent hunting. Grats to ya.

I would bet there are very few people who have found more than a few, if any, capped bust over their years of detecting and mostly half dimes too

With all the early stuff Ive been finding at the cob site, it didnt even register in my mind that it could be “newer” but once someone said it, it made perfect sense. Still a first for me though
