Found this-locking buckle. Any thoughts? DSC02742.webp

Might be an antique locking buckle from a diary/ledger or even from an old footlocker or suitcase

Check Google for 1940s era leather satchel type briefcases. Pm me & remind me, I've got some notes on disk at home. See if you can find a makers mark on the back, unless you don't want to clean it.

Definitely will scrub the back and get back to you. I have been looking on craigslist for a cheap grinder/polisher for the odds and ends I find.
Thanks

size is almost the exact as an old boy scout buckle, but the dog collar looks close. Do you have a year for that?
thanks

I think it's from the early 1900's . It's about 1 1/2 " wide .
