WHAT TOWN IS THIS NEAR?

Middle of nowhere really. Head N/NE on 7 out of Jasper, 7 crosses the Buffalo, you'll see it on your right.

Google Earth has a great image.

No, the Little Buffalo and Buffalo are close but two different rivers. You'll see NE of Jasper where 7 crosses Buffalo

Hey Verde, UAMS med-school class of '89. Still in LR. We have a friend with a cabin over looking the river at Baker's Ford, near St. Joe, and we go up there a couple times a year. Its a huge temptation to take the CZ up there and sniff around the put in site at the Ford but I'm too old to go to the federal hoosegow.

Exactly. Any Feds, Rangers, Forestry, Corps, etc, you're screwed. State people aren't as bad, but the answer remains hell no, same as Feds.

it's a Shame ! Because that first picture looks like there is a good chance of Swimmers loosing things

Think about other places. Where do the kids go parking, don't have drive-in theaters anymore.

State/County fair parking lots.

Use to be a lot of old race car tracks around.

Horse racing before Oaklawn had the state govt shut down all of their competition...just kidding.

Every community use to have their own schoolhouse, usually at a church. Follow old railroad maps, lot of ghost towns.

And on the original topic, people use to all go to the same place for baptisms, swimming, taking a bath, washing clothes a long time ago.

Arkansas History Commission has infinite years of newspapers, search for any of the above.
