That looks like a 50 cal. BMG bullet. I find them on a WWII training range but they can appear just about anywhere.

.50 caliber BMG? (Browning Machine Gun)

Could be others of similar (large) caliber. 12.7mm x 108mm (Soviet), 13mm x 64mmB (German), etc.

I’m thinking a WW 2 vet lived their at one time and had it as a souvenir and must have dropped it
