Solution
It is a chain link. Most likely from a piece of equipment such as:
Manure spreader, “ elevator” for hay bales, etc.
They were made in several sizes, depending on the workload.
Easy to replace if one broke or became damaged. I have literally found hundreds of them. Very prolific.

It’s called “detachable chain”.
Still manufactured and used today.
Here is a picture I found. This shows 3 links hooked together.
