Bullet?

I managed to get out for a couple of hours after work this morning in the back yard! Didn't find much, pieces of foil, old triple AAA battery, and a 1966 quarter! I did find this though, first thought was a bullet? Not so sure though after seeing the lines down the sides? Any thought?

yupp modern small caliber bullet the small lines are from the rifling from the barrel

The riflings indicated on the side of bullet show it was fired.
