Hi all. Any of you that use the BE2 know the switch is the weakest part of this great little pinpointer. Mine wore out after a lot of use in 2013. Rather than just toss it, I decided to fix it. I went to Radio Shack and bought a pkg of 2 momentary on push switches for just over 3 bucks. I took the pointer apart, took the old switch out and unsoldered the 2 wires, drilled a hole in the opposite side of the plastic casing, mounted the new switch and soldered the wires to the switch. Works great again! I used a high speed rotary drill, the switch, solder, flux, soldering iron and wire to extend the internal wiring for this fix. Took maybe 15 minutes. 3 bucks sure beats 130 bucks for a new one! Below is a pic of the 2nd switch for reference and the finished pointer.
