This just goes to show that "treasure fever" was as alive in people's psyche's back then, just as it is now. A treasure legend can be born overnight. And in the next day's newspaper.

If you read closely all the assertions in such stories, ask yourself, after each point: "Says who?" Everything in that article sounds like a story straight out of the 1960s/70's treasure magazines. So compelling and fun to read. But when you slow down and read critically, you have to ask yourself: Where is this author getting all his conjectures and amazing time-lines ? Someone with a wild imagination tells him ? And the telephone game begins ?
