burning season

We started the spring controlled burning season yesterday
Time to start shed hunting and finding old house sites in these
heavily wooded areas.You are walking in the middle of nowhere
and all of a sudden there are bricks,sweet
Let the games begin

Cool pics., dirt diva! We're getting ready to start our "controlled burns" on the Tallgrass Prairie soon(about the 1st of March, if it dries out enough cause its pretty muddy right now!).
Don't you just love the smell of grassfire ?!
And we can't wait to start looking for deer sheds, too.

The folks around here used to burn the Mts every year to help control the ticks.

Yep, that time of year. I like it when the fires are crawling up or down a hill at night. Looks like lava flowing. "c'mon spring!!!

Creepie as in scary ?for sure,because the rattle snakes are moving away
from the fire heading straight for you.My husband killed three within a
six foot area.After the burn,trying to find your way out in the dark and heavy smoke
is Creepie!!

Creepie as slow moving ?Always burn with the wind slowly backing up the fire
instead of wind pushing it.Less damage to trees and less chance of the fire jumping.

Any updates on just waiting ?
