Got out for a bit this afternoon and hit an area near an old Army base, Didn;t find much of anything but did manage to get this butterfly plate thingie. I ahve no clue as to what it is, but is about 3 inches long by 1 1/2 inches wide and looks like it was screwed or tacked on to something... ??? :icon_scratch:

Plahbah - you've missed your calling.

Hang up the study of history and get back into design work!

I can't stop laughing thinking about a corps of guys wearing those plates into a Civil War battle. Maybe with pink cartridge boxes and purple straps.

Thats what I was thinking...if it is in fact a CW plate, then whatever soldier used it msut have got some MAJOR ribbing and teasing... :D
Here are a couple more shots of it front and back...the front appears to be pewter...
