Went to check out a new homestead site I have had an eye on for awhile and put an hour or so in before sunset. Lots of signals to sort through and didn't cover a lot of ground (going back tomorrow all day) but did get a really nice eagle button with an intact shank, and the following inscription "Jewelers Products Corp. Providence R.I." Slightly larger than a quarter.

Just curious if anyone knows if it is a military uniform item or just a civilian clothing item. Thanks for the look!

Thanks guys, its definitely bronze, and my searches indicate WWI as well. Pretty pleased to find it, it rang in high 90's on AT Pro and thought "silver half!" when I first saw the disc, but quickly saw the eagle and realized it was a button. Not a silver coin, but tickled nonetheless!

Army general service button. WW1 to WW2. They still use this same design present.

Great finds! I have found 3 Great Seal buttons now, and would be thrilled to find another. They have a connection to our history that is very important to us all. Many might not find them interesting, but I certainly do. Thanks for sharing your finds with us.

Very cool. I have been lucky to find one, very shallow and screaming clad quarter, I was surprised! Mine has a Scoville mfg. back mark. If I remember right, it is a military overcoat from button WW1. Congrats on saving a piece of history!
