Found this button in a hunted out site from the early 1800s.On front it says C.N.G on back it says Waterbury Co.Scovill Mfg.

Yep It's a Connecticut National Guard The backmark dates 1860 to 1870 and is found on a lot of civil war buttons. From the pic the rim looks like the wider version so the button was probably made after 1863 Cool find.
