Button help, civil war period?

I dug this large button here in Lower Alabama. I came out of 6 inches of hard clay! The button is in pretty good condition, the eagle has what appears to be an anchor and cannon balls at his feet. The size is 1 1/16 inch. Any ideas? This is my first old button I've had any interest in. Thanks!

your has the look of the civil war navy button,but this variety was carried over till now on blazers.I hope it has a backmark and not an iron back.
