Found this today and can’t figure out the backmark. TIA

i think I see "W. BING------Co./ EXTRA. I couldn't find anything similar in my button books or looking at British backmarks online. It probably dates from the 1790s to about the 1830s,

I think I see a W.H. and something else. Could it be a "W.H. Horstmann? Another picture with a slightly altered angle or shadow?

Your new photos confirm my observation of the first one. I held off replying, in the hope you would post more photos. Very good closeup work there, BTW. Made my job easier. Applause! :)

The button's backmark is "W.H. Jones & Co. / Extra" --which is listed in the McGuinn-&-Bazelon book on backmark dating. William H. Jones made buttons in Waterbury CT from 1835 to 1840. (At the late end of the timeline Fyrffytr1 gave you.)
