Button Help Please

Hi All,
This is only my second button. Don't know a lot about them. This was found at an older hotel. On the back you can see S.A. French New York
Just curious of the age. Don't think it is military related, but who knows. Someone may have been on leave.

Cool button from the Great White Fleet era. Nice find! Brings to mind the battle cry of that time, "Remember the Maine!".
