Button help

Interesting button found today. Love finding buttons but I am Terrible at IDing them. This one is the size of a quarter exactly but is convex. Crosshatch pattern on front , but it is the back that made me go hmmmmm. There is a off center seem and also two leaf/vine/branch?s
I don?t think I?ve seen a button with design on both sides? Any help IDing and possible age would be great . Thanks everyone

The "crosshatch" pattern on the front is called "basket weave". These type buttons were popular in the mid 18th C.

You have a "Tomback" (Tombac?) button, see the Mold marks on back...?
Colonial-aged....Great Find...!

Not a tombac and not mid !8th Century. The backmarkings make it no earlier than the 1790s. I find these crosshatched "basket weave" buttons on very late 18th and early to mid 19th century sites.

Thank you everyone the links are great and I will mark them for future . The button I?ll continue to try and track what?s left of the back mark. Found in back yard of 1924 home in a town established in 1899, so makes me feel it is at least older than the established town?

Once again thank for all the feedback . If I can track the back mark I will try and lost more info
