I believe it's a Marine Corp button, not sure of the age.

I agree with Fullstock that it is a Marine button. Is that just dirt or is it corrosion on your button? Can you clean it enough to get a backmark? And, can you provide a measurement or put a known object like a coin in your picture to give us something to help ID your button?
