Thanks Kidd I was thinking that it was WW1. I know on thing when I saw something round in the hole my heart dropped

Funny you called me Kidd. Very old nickname I had because I looked so young for my age. That and kiddo. Haha

The raised rim was added in 1910. Yours appears to have remnants of the black finish used up until 1923. I believe WWI would be a safe bet.
Is it possible that the back reads "Providence RI" rather than Portland Or.? I only ask because someone in the "What Is It?" forum is compiling a list of Great Seal button backmarks, and I believe this would be a new one for it, unless it's Providence.
