Beauty... it's a "flower" button once covered in gold gilt - early to mid 1800s. The pattern and quality-mark "rich gold color" helps date it. Nice find!

Looks like space for 'Colour' so most likely British, its manufacturing reminds me of the 1830s livery button, so probably a similar date.

it looks like 1700's to me. go back to that site and find more.
