I have gotten 4 of these in the last 3 weeks. Wondering if anyone else has also? But someone put an offer on something for instance this bracelet they did a buy it now for $400. Three days go by and they send me an email saying they can only afford to pay $300 instead. Then I asked if I would except that cancel the order and redo it for a lower price. Rather annoying if you ask me. Another one was $100 and the guy emailed me asking if I would take 60 instead. Third one was $250 and then an email asking if I would take $120 because that's all he had in his account. It's all been on gold jewelry too.

Hope you are telling them to take a trip south - and I don't mean Florida.

Report them to eBay. They are stopping your auctions by doing "buy it now" to stop competition and try to get a better deal.

I have a friend who said her grandpa was banned from eBay for doing this. I think you should report them too.

Making a Best Offer

From that page:
Using Best Offer

If you see Make Offer below the Buy It Now price in the listing, the seller accepts Best Offers from buyers.

You can negotiate the price with the seller, giving you the opportunity to buy the item for less than the Buy It Now price. The seller can accept your offer, decline your offer, or make a counteroffer. However, you should make what you consider to be your best offer for the item because any seller who receives multiple offers for an item is likely to accept the highest Best Offer.

You should use Best Offer only when you're serious about making a purchase at your Best Offer price. If your offer is accepted by the seller, you and the seller are required to complete the transaction.

blacklist them and then report them.

I did block two of them. Also I had somebody buy a gold necklace and then I had another belt buckle online and he asked if I would throw that in for free. It was when I had online for a very long time had not sold so I said sure why not. Then he asked if He could have two others for free as well. LOL I told him nice try but feel free to put an offer on them!

It is a best offer so they will almost alway offer half, that's why you negotiate. When we get a best offer I usually take them, only because I paid under $5 for it and getting a really good price. Like today we have a buck display case on have it at $80 got a offer for 59.00 and it has a flat $20.00 shipping on it. Took it, is it a big cut, yes and no, we only paid 10 for it and well get a little of that shipping.

Truthfully auctions with bin are pointless. If you have a hot item and your hoping it will go above let say 100. Okay you start the auction at 50 with a bin at 80 and your hoping it goes to 100, as soon as it gets close to 80 it will most likely sell for 80. Who's going to keep bidding up above the cheaper price of 80, if they do keep bidding it up over 80 their dumb. From what I gather your running auctions with bin and best offers? Why, run one or the other. In our experience we have ran about 30 auctions and never 1 has paid, ever. Unless you have a hot desirable item just use bin.

Don't be afraid with bin to list high with a best offer for 30 days. You can always lower the price, get best offers or shorten the listing time anywhere up to 15 days into the listing. Also with bin you can put immediate payment. That way if they do make a offer it will stay listed incase you have other watchers they can still get the item at full or higher price. We all go through these bad buyer slumps. That's why eBay needs to allow negative feedback from sellers about buyers, it would avoid a lot of these very problems we all experience. Last I checked we as business owners have the basic right to refuse service. Good luck and hope it works for you.

Im always hesitant to list high dollar gold items on ebay due to some people.

The majority of my transactions go well, knock on wood, but I've talked to some real wackos. Most of them get on by BBL before they can buy anything though.

Well the high dollar stuff does sell. However this is not the time of year. You'll get offers but it's always below scrap. It's definitely worth it to list it though and just wait it out. There is always someone out there looking for that one thing they need to make them happy. I mean I recently sold the gold necklace for $3000 and shipped to Las Vegas. And it was no problem. So I wouldn't worry about that as far as the high dollar. Just if they pay or not normally they do though. Just some people I think are testing it it or maybe they're just drunk! Lol.

THIS is a perfect example of why sellers should only allow 48 hours for payment. I would respond with something to the effect of "sure I can sell you this item for half the price you agreed to pay, I just need to know which half of the item you would like me to send? top/bottom left/right?"
