I see many advertisements on the internet and in magazines for bagged gold bearing ore that say they have gold in them. Is this a scam? Are these bags "salted" so that you keep buying more? Is there any profit for the buyer in these bags or is all the profit for the seller? I can't imagine anyone selling gold bearing ore unless it is very low grade stuff! ???

The one seller I know here in the south salts his bags. He dredges , then adds gold. He sells by the added amount( 1 gm, 2 gm, 1/4 oz ,etc.....).

You get the amount advertised plus any gold that might be in his dredge concentrates!! Prices based on spot prices.

ALL panning bags are salted! and yes, they do make a profit or they couldnt aford to sell it! with the price of gold now, im suprised anyone could aford them!

Its hard to believe the bags would have more gold value in them than what you pay. Then there is an added shipping cost , price of the bag itself , plus the sellers time. So I would consider it like throwing money away , unless you just want to see what its like to pan through some dirt and see gold there. If the chance exists to find gold in the bag worth more than what you paid for it then the seller would be silly to sell it.
