Buying my first detector today..

Hey everybody! Hope all is well. I'm searching for my first md and I found a Garrett Ace 250 on Craigslist for $125. Owner claims its 6 months old but has to sell due to upset wife. Lol! Is this a good price point for my first md? I will be hunting in dry and wet sand on the beach, and possibly some sandlots, etc. thanks in advance for the advice!

Thanks! I'm just waiting on my direct deposit to hit so I can go scoop her up. Any tips on inspecting it before I buy?

Take some coins and run it under to make sure it works and do just a visual inspection of the coil make sure its not got big scrapes and cuts in it if not then you got a great deal
