Don't want to break the bank with a PI, this looks about the same as well used older models on ebay. Any love for this thing? With shipping it's around $500 US

First, are you experienced in detecting?
Where will you be using it? Fresh, salt north, south?
It is not waterproof from what I have read so cant go very deep in the water if you are a beach hunter.

If you have a Budget of $500 there are a lot of good detectors available. Might check our classified section for good used detectors, or talk to one of our supporting vendors.

Somewhat experienced, on and off since I was a kid. Treasure, cool rocks, fossils, urban scrap mining. On land and underwater.
Behind a GM1000 of the wife's and my Legend.
Salt and freshwater beaches nationwide, SW US deserts and LDMA/GPAA claims
Primarily for nuggets and jewelry. We dig everything no matter what.

Thanks for your service BTW. I was born at Lackland as both my parents were stationed there. USAF crypto. I was in the USN 6 yrs. GSE

The CS4PI is probably decent for beach hunting but not for nugget hunting. Most beach PI models have a delay of 10us or more to hunt in the salt and do not have ground balance. For nugget hunting, you need ground balance and a shorter delay. The are very few PI models that do both well.
