I don't think it's a cache. Looks like a good sized POCKET SPILL. A cache is an intentionally hidden object or objects with the purpose of later retrieval.

Nice finds aqua-nomics.com!

Sick! Nice dig!

Awesome find!

Very nice find:hello2: Congratulations:icon_thumright:

Looks like Cash to me! Great that you and the children got out AND found a nice pile of coins, any silvers and what dates?!
Keep having fun...............63bkpkr

We are fairly new at detecting and this has been the best find besides a old hot wheels, I don't understand how a pocket spill would be 4-5 inches in the ground? I think they were intentionally buried.... Maybe?

All dates are late 90's-2001? Nothing spectacular to you pros, but I was a hero to my kids for the day! :-) there still talking about the dig!

Nice finds. It is funny how coins or relics end up as we find them. Surely there would be a story behind any loss. But yours sounds like a great story for the recovery. Have fun.

Not a damper, but I've dug modern coin spills at 6-7 inches. Doesn't mean someone didn't intentionally bury it either. Either way, when you dig a hole and see lots of coins it gets anybodies heart pumping. Congrats to you and being a hero to your kids. lol

I wasn't trying to rain on your parade. The best part is how much your kids loved it! Enjoy these days, they grow up too fast.

spending quality time with your children is more valuable then any coin spill. congrats.

Nice way to spend time!

Eleven in one...sweet.

It's strange I know but get used to it, I dug up a 2001 quarter 6 inches down the other day. Maybe other MDers while digging the silver up drop modern ones in for me to dig up later.:laughing7:

Great find super dad! :)
