they're putting in a landfill there 2100 feet from the mounds,the state will recieve about one million in fees a year from Waste Management,the united states biggest garbage hauler..........so much for not digging on historical sites

If everyone ponied up enough, I'm pretty sure we could hunt the White House lawn and the Wheat Field at Gettysburg if we were so emboldened. Remember, it's a green world after all!
Unless it was apart of some MAJOR HISTORICAL SUGNIFIGANCE, I see no point in not developing an area. Every section of the world holds some history, but to not utilize the land is just crazy. Imagine if Europe or the middle east was never built, It has roman and other cultures relics all over it. it does no body any good to let the land go farrow. If it is of significance, then excavate it and get it over with.
