California is suffering through the worst drought in 40 years. Man-made lakes are evaporating to the extent that long-lost gold rush towns are visible above water again. This seems like a rare opportunity for some lucrative metal detecting and treasure hunting activity. Any California detectorists wish to comment? I'm on the East coast, so I can only do some "California Dreamin' "8-) Thanks, good hunting, JK

I've got one I'm heading to as soon as I can make time. Was a stage stop, that's now exposed. And this one aint one of those fed or state ones. It's a different entity :) Will report eventually, if it turns out to be good.

Welcome! Ya I'm on the east coast too.

Well Tom_in_CA, good luck to you hope your successful! Remember to post pics for the rest of us!

DON'T get caught with items covered by CA's silly antiquities' laws! Keep it quiet! TTC
